suburban space

For nearly seven years i didn’t have a car. Our family had a minivan - and over the years i had both a motorized scooter and later a motorcycle - but i also walked a lot more, rode a bicycle, and took public transportation. One of the things that i learned during this time is how much perspective i had lost driving through my local community. Slowing down shifted my perspective and realigned my perception of the areas in which i lived.

suburban space grew out of my desire to capture the size and scope of the spaces in my immediate surrounding, looking for vestiges of what they were like before becoming corridors between urban end-points.

all of these photos were captured within a 2 mile radius of my home.
